🍎 My Tech Favourites – Apple Obsessed Since 2016
Curating this list was actually hard — not because I don’t know what I love, but because… I LOVE tech so much! 💖 Expect more lists in the future (hello accessories 👀), but today I’m starting with the essentials: my everyday tech favorites.
Yes, you'll notice right away… it's pretty much all Apple. Guilty as charged! 🙋♀️ I'm basically a walking billboard without the paycheck. These are my personal favourites —the ones I use daily and that make my life easier.
How It Started 📖
I used to be a Windows user forever. And trust me—I invested in the best of the best laptops back then. But those heavy dinosaurs (hello 2007) were basically portable heaters with keyboards! 🔥 They overheated faster than than an iPhone left in the sun, slowed to a crawl when opening more than three tabs, and weighed about as much as a small child. 🧳💪 I'm old enough to remember the very first MacBook Air commercial (you know, the one where it magically slid out of a paper-thin envelope ✉️) and thinking, "Pfft, yeah right! Next they'll tell us computers can fit in our pockets!" Spoiler: I was hilariously, embarrassingly wrongong.
In 2016, I finally made the switch to Apple — and it was a game-changer! 🍎 My tech now runs smoothly, lasts for years, and all my devices seamlessly communicate with each other. It's like joining an ecosystem where everything just works together perfectly. Once you experience this level of integration, it's hard to imagine using anything else!! 😜
My Apple Faves
MacBook Air – Light as Air 💻
Loves: The screen is crystal clear, the keyboard is magic for my fingers, and after six years it still runs like a dream. This 2020 rose gold version is basically my BFF. I had a MacBook Pro before, but honestly the Air wins — lightweight and always by my side.
Things to Consider: If you’ve ever lugged around those heavy dinosaur laptops from 2007 (seriously, you basically needed a carry-on 🧳), the Air will feel like a feather. I’m not sure if I’d go for Midnight (deep navy/blue) or Starlight next time — which would you pick?
iMac – Game Changer 🖥
Loves: My 27-inch 5K retina display is a game changer. Split-screen heaven, ultra-clear colors — I wish I could work on it all day. And now with Apple Intelligence + the new Siri coming, the integration just keeps getting smarter.
Things to Consider: Once you’ve worked on a screen this sharp, going back to a smaller or fuzzier one is painful. Also, they’re not portable — so no cozy couch working. But hey, your back will thank you for sitting at a desk like an adult.
iPhone – Everyday Essential 📱
Loves: The speed. The camera. The ability to copy text from photos (a hack I use all the time). Notes app, iCloud, everything syncing like magic across my devices.
Things to Consider: You will get stuck in the Apple ecosystem. Photos, apps, notes — once everything lives here, it’s hard to imagine life without it. It’s less “just a phone” and more “personal assistant that judges you when you don’t close your rings.”
iPad + Apple Pencil – PDF Power ✍️
Loves: Great for notes, doodles, content creation, and research. The iPad was a game changer during my master’s — I had to read thousands of PDFs, and the Apple Pencil let me write directly on them, color-code, and keep my notes organized in one place.
Things to Consider: The bright glass screen is smooth, so adding a Paperlike cover gives you a non-glare, paper-like experience. If you’re planning to draw or handwrite a lot, it’s worth it.
Apple Pencil – Creativity Unlocked ✏️
Loves: Super precise, feels natural, and makes my iPad a powerhouse.
Things to Consider: It’s amazing — but tiny. Translation: easy to misplace if you’re the kind of person who loses pens, lip balms, or… everything. Invest in a case or magnetic holder.
AirPods – Focus Mode 🎧
Loves: No more tangled cords! They’re light, comfy, and the sound quality is chef’s kiss. Perfect for focus mode, workouts, or pacing around like you’re on an important business call (even if it’s just your mom).
Things to Consider: They’re great until one goes missing (usually in your couch). Also, battery life is decent but not forever — so if you marathon podcasts, keep the case handy for quick charging.
Apple Watch – Wellness on Wrist ⌚️
Loves: The health tracking, the notifications, the rings! Heartbeat tracking is great, but I’d love to upgrade mine (it’s over 10 years old) to try the new oxygen feature.
Things to Consider: The “just one more ring to close” obsession is real. Also, daily charging is a must — it’s not your old-school Timex that lasted five years on one battery.
AirTag – Never Lost 🔑
Loves: No more lost keys or purses. We even used ours during a move to keep track of boxes — and it’s amazing for travel (if you dare to check luggage). Total lifesaver.
Things to Consider: Works best inside the Apple ecosystem (shocker). And once you realize how handy they are, you’ll want multiples — for keys, luggage, maybe even the dog. 🐶
Apple TV – Stream Dream 📺
Loves: Ted Lasso alone is worth it 🍪⚽️, but I also love having the physical box, not just the app. It turns any night into karaoke, lets me watch my photos on the big screen, and gives me that classic Apple smoothness.
Things to Consider: To get the most out of it, you’ll need Apple services like Music or TV+. It’s all about the ecosystem — but if you’re already in, it’s totally worth it.
Steve Jobs Biography – Think Different 📖
Loves: If you love Apple, you’ll love diving into the story behind it. Steve Jobs’ biography is part inspiration, part innovation playbook, and part reminder that great ideas often come from thinking differently.
Things to Consider: It’s not a quick read — this is a deep dive into business, design, and resilience. But if you’re an Apple fan, it’s basically the bonus level to the whole Apple experience. And for commuters or walkers 🚶♀️🎧, the audiobook makes it super easy to soak in on the go.
Why Apple? 🍏
Because it just works. Back when I was using PC, I felt like I was buying a new laptop every two years because they overheated or batteries failed. With Apple, I’ve gotten years out of each device (four years on my MacBook Pro, six and counting on my MacBook Air).
And once you get an iPhone, everything connects seamlessly — photos, notes, files, reminders. It’s like having your own personal assistant that never complains.
Final Note 💡
I always recommend the newest version of these products if you’re buying now, even if mine are older. That way, you’re getting the best longevity. I also love to keep my tech for as long as it runs smoothly, so don’t feel pressure to upgrade just because something shiny and new came out last week. Refurbished Apple tech can also be a smart way to save.
And hey — I’d love to hear from you! Comment below with your questions or your own Apple faves. While I’m no Genius Bar expert, I’ll always share a non-sponsored, honest opinion… unless Apple wants to start sponsoring me (call me, Tim Cook 😉).
